This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal and business information when you access or use the Selliro platform, including our website, mobile interfaces, and APIs.

By using Selliro, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information depending on how you interact with the platform:

a) Account & Identity Information

  • Full name, email address, phone number.
  • Password (stored in hashed form — we never store plain-text passwords).
  • Role type (buyer, seller, or admin).
  • Account verification status.

b) Buyer Profile Information

  • Company name, industry, designation.
  • GST number, PAN number (if voluntarily provided).
  • Business address — city, state, pin code.
  • Delivery address — door number, street, landmark, city, state, pin code.

c) Seller Profile & KYC Information

  • Business name, business type, description, logo.
  • GST number, PAN number, business address, city, state, pin code.
  • KYC documents — PAN card, Aadhaar (front/back), GST certificate, bank proof.
  • KYC verification status and history.

d) Seller Bank Details

  • Account holder name, account number, IFSC code, bank name, branch name.
  • Bank verification status.

e) Transaction & Order Information

  • Enquiry details, quotations, order amounts, shipping addresses, billing addresses.
  • Payment records — Cashfree order IDs, payment IDs, payment status, transaction amounts.
  • Shipment tracking details — tracking numbers, carrier names, proof of dispatch.

f) Communication Data

  • Enquiry messages and responses exchanged between buyers and sellers through the platform.
  • Dispute descriptions, evidence, and resolution notes.
  • Notification records.

g) Automatically Collected Data

  • IP address, browser type, device information, operating system.
  • Pages visited, product views, timestamps, and usage patterns.
  • Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 8).

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information for the following purposes:

  • Account Management: To create and maintain your account, authenticate logins, and manage account security (including OTP verification and account lockout protection).
  • KYC & Verification: To verify seller identity and business legitimacy as required for marketplace trust and regulatory compliance.
  • Transaction Processing: To facilitate enquiries, quotations, orders, payments, and settlements between buyers and sellers.
  • Payment & Payout Processing: To process buyer payments through Cashfree and to settle seller payouts to verified bank accounts.
  • Shipping & Delivery: To coordinate shipment tracking, dispatch confirmations, and delivery verification.
  • Communication: To send transactional emails, notifications, OTPs, order updates, and platform announcements via Resend (our email provider).
  • Dispute Resolution: To review disputes, investigate claims, and enforce platform policies.
  • Platform Improvement: To analyze usage patterns, improve user experience, fix bugs, and develop new features.
  • Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent fraudulent activity, lead leakage, fake listings, and policy violations.
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable Indian laws, regulations, court orders, and government requests.

4. How We Store Your Data

  • Database: Your account, profile, transaction, and order data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on secure cloud infrastructure.
  • File Storage: Product images, videos, and KYC documents are stored on Cloudflare R2 (encrypted object storage).
  • Passwords: All passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms before storage. We never store or have access to plain-text passwords.
  • Bank Details: Seller bank account information is stored with restricted access, used solely for payout processing and KYC verification.
  • Retention: We retain your data for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period after account closure, as required for legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legitimate business purposes.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Sharing

We share your information with the following third parties only as necessary for platform operation:

  • Cashfree: Payment gateway for processing buyer payments and seller payouts. Cashfree receives order amounts, payment details, and limited user information. Cashfree's own privacy policy applies to data they process.
  • Cloudflare: Infrastructure provider for file storage (R2) and content delivery. Cloudflare may process IP addresses and request metadata.
  • Resend: Email delivery service for sending OTPs, order confirmations, and notifications. Resend receives email addresses and message content.
  • Vercel: Hosting platform for the Selliro website. Vercel may collect basic analytics and performance data.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Selliro, our users, or the public.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data transmitted between your browser and our servers.
  • Hashed password storage with secure algorithms.
  • JWT-based authentication with short-lived access tokens and refresh token rotation.
  • Account lockout protection after multiple failed login attempts.
  • Role-based access control — admin, seller, and buyer roles have different data access levels.
  • Two-factor authentication (2FA) for admin accounts.

While we take security seriously, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable Indian privacy laws and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP Act) 2023, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Erasure: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal and contractual obligations (e.g., we may need to retain transaction records for tax and compliance purposes).
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent for data processing at any time by contacting us. Withdrawal may affect your ability to use certain platform features.
  • Grievance Redressal: Raise a complaint about data handling practices.

8. Cookies & Tracking

  • Essential Cookies: Used for authentication, session management, and security. These are necessary for the platform to function.
  • Analytics: We may use Vercel Speed Insights or similar tools to understand page performance and user experience. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using the platform.

9. Children's Privacy

Selliro is a B2B marketplace intended for use by businesses and individuals who are legally capable of entering into contracts. We do not knowingly collect personal data from individuals under the age of 18. If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal data, we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Selliro after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
